Hey all, I am a lifelong hard rock player who has been growing more and more acoustic of late. While visiting my folks in Tallahassee I met some cool cats and heard some great acoustic music, mostly the above genres. I was wondering of anyone could give me some pointers on chords, scales, finger technique or general theory that will help me jam with these guys next time I'm up north. Also, feel free to suggest 'must listen' artists or albums, especially if they have an exemplary bass player.

I have not played a string(double, standup, upright) bass since high school and do not plan on acquiring one, so I will mostly be using my ABG (and a small amp if there is more than a picker or two around) so keep in mind that I am not looking for tone or equipment suggestions, just technique and theory.

Thanks in advance!

~Ian
