Bowed Bass

Hello there, i was wondering if someelse know a song, band or whatever, that record the sound of a bass played with a bow.
Sorry my lame english. I donīt know if you understand what i mean.
Well, lets make this more ilustrated, some like this:

(yes, she is pazbass <3, argentinian like me btw)

I have see and lisen some guitar played like this ( Sigur Rós for example ) , but for a bass i have only see pictures of this technique.
there are some videos in youtube, but made by guys experimenting for first time. Anyway there show the concepts pretty well:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FaMyxVRqos

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYo3w5NEOrk

what do you think? i like how its sounds a lot, "just" like a cello. It is possible make some really interesting and darkys atmospheres.

So, anyone have or know some record, video, etc of the technique in better sound quality. Or a song with all the letters, not only experimenting it for some seconds with random notes.

thanks

and please fell free to tell your opinion about this technique, his sound, this thread or whatever.

PD: anyone know how to make a homemade bow?

Sounds best in the first video but I'd atribute that to all the other effects going on. If someone made an electric bass with arced strings I think this could be deffinately used to it's full potential.

cool effect though

...almost forgot

Play upright!

hmm. This seems feasible enough. Maybe if you raised the action on the middle two strings?

There are lots of upright electrics. I wouldn't even bother seriously with bowing something with a flat neck. Too lame for the likes of me.

The band "The Seven Mile Journey" does it on at least one of their songs. Problem is, I don't know which one, I just saw them doing it at one of their concerts.
