Brain/Finger Freeze

Sign in to disble this ad
So for the last couple of months ive been playing nothing but Black Sabbath/Free/and Iron maiden riffs just for kicks. Now ive noticed my fret hand keeps playing the same patterns.I keep resorting back to the blues scale and the______ scale.Im having a brain fart. Its played like this in E

A ---------5 7
E 0 3 5 7

Whats this scale called? Also could you post some cool jazz/bebop warmups and scales i couldt work on to get my fingers out of this funk? Thanks!

I don't get it. Were you playing in the pit for some heavy metal musical? If not, this is not a brain fart, this the result of conscious intent and practice. Rock on, or start getting out there.

The "brain fart" had to do with my inability to remember the name of a certain scale.

It's also known as the "blues scale," which is why it sounds so good in so many different applications.
