I just an order of mics and stuff from Musician's Friend, and they stuck one o these in accidentally... http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ide?sku=365400
Since they neglected to send one item, they said keep the slide for my trouble....
I offered it to my guitarist and he said he has one, and I oughtta try some slide bass... I'm game...

My question is: Will using the slide be bad for frets, board, or strings?

Gracias in advance....

unless your a terrible slide player this wont damge your bass because it never touches the frets, also most slide bass sounds garbage

With some processing and some practice maybe you could make some cello-like sounds *shrug*

Slide is fun to play around with; you can get some quirky, funky, and some downright hilarious sounds with it, but I dont think slide bass has much practical use in the real world.
