so i switched straps on my bass for a longer one. Not because I can play bass at my knees but because I like to play my bass at a high angle, idk it's comfortable to me.

I'm curious if this could lead to future problems or not?

If you mean a more upright bass type angle than I don't see it causing any problems. Actually I'd say that's far better than a horizontal position, because it puts both the right and left hand in very natural positions where as there is always compromise with a horizontal approach.

cool. the headstock is about 6-10 inches from my face when I hold it like this. Is there anything I can do to prevent from sliding to the horizontal position?

I often play that way. On most if my basses I usually end up moving the top post for the strap over so that it's "pointing" at the neck rather than parallel to it, if that makes sense.

Well there shouldn't be any problems if the strap can just hold that position without slipping. If you have to hold that angle with your left hand, that's another story. Otherwise it's all fine.

I've always found an angle to be comfortable, yet tiring on my left arm.

i just hang my bass as low as i can and it seems comfortable, just kind of rests. its not a heavy bass so that helps. then i just play at an angle, never had a problem. also the planet waves locking straps are great straps
