Clack when playing staccato notes

Sign in to disble this ad
Hiya . . .I know it's due to poor technique, but I'm not sure how to correct the issue. . .

When I'm lifting off a staccato note I get the dreaded clack, it's not as bad as as fret buzz/clack, but it's still that metal on metal horrid noise

I can eq or patch it out, but sometimes just want some treble :-)

Would appreciate any thoughts, oh I'm using flats btw

String height combined with your right-hand technique. Get the height that you need, and practice your playing...

So do you mute the string with your right hand rather than lifting off with the left?

are you lifting completely off with your left? I don't think I do that. I can't tell if I mute with other fingers on the left hand or I lift off enough so that slight lift along takes care of killing the note. But it's not the right that is muting the note. For me at least.

I get the same problem, but usually just with the E string and sometimes the A...would raising the action a little bit help this?
