Ok, so I play Metal now, but I'd like to start looking into classical bass. Any tips or tabs or other posts anyone can lead me to? Just trying to get off to the right start in classical bass. :] thanks

Do you mean Double Bass, or classical guitar style on bass guitar?

I don't think Tab is really the right direction. I'd advise getting a good teacher who does electric bass and double bass (upright). There are plenty of classical pieces that can work well on electric. If you are really serious, learn double bass. It is a lifelong challenge.

Yeah, there are some Bach cello suites that sound beast on bass. Edgar Meyer does some quite well on double bass, and some that stuff is tough!

From my limited classical experience, I found Bach to be the best for the bass. He seems to be pretty straight forward 8th notes from beginning to end (for the most part).

The thing I've discovered though is there's so much more to memorize with classical; it doesn't repeat over and over like rock. It appears every measure through-out the songs are different, but I haven't delved too deeply and I'm sure others have a better insight than I do

Tablature is okay for certain things. Classical is not among those things. Reading standard notation (well) is a must. Developing a style which allows you to easily pluck all 4 strings independently of one another is another must, IME. Your standard two finger approach just won't flow as naturally. Flamenco based styles are popular and quite effective from what I've found. Learning DB (bowed) and piano augment the classical education very effectively. Being able to read with both of those will take you a long way.

Scales, arpeggios, Bach's cello suites (the sonatas and partitas for solo violin, when you feel really ambitious). Finding an orchestra to play in can really help.

Oh, and one little thing, I almost forgot...

FIND A TEACHER!

It'll be a whole lot easier if you have a good teacher.
