Does anyone know the specific technique he uses at around 15-16 sec. into the song. I know its a variation of a hammer on thumb down then up but i cant seem to get it to sound anywhere near his( and i know it takes a lot of practice) but it would be nice to practice the proper technique.
Thanks

this is correct...however, for some less talented, or at least less practiced than vic, like myself, its a lot easier and sounds almost as good to just use double thumb on the main "riff" if you will

The Wooten way does not use any index pops during the intro, but of course it can be played a variety of ways. I have a friend that does a tapping version even

Wooten himself does play it thumb down - hammer on - thumb up according to his website and tab book, contrary to popular belief.

Thumb down - hammer on - pluck however is a great alternative if you are not skilled at double thumbing.
