Count Zero by Stu Hamm

Does anyone know what technique Stu uses at the very beginning of Count Zero from Kings of Sleep? It sounds either like a gallop with slap or double thumbing. Thanks for any help.

He slaps the first low note, then the next 3 notes are a flamenco(sp?) guitar-like pop. I had him show me this technique about 10 years ago at a clinic. It's actually really easy to do. The 3 pop'd notes are done with the index, middle, and ring finger. You kind of just roll your hand off the strings to get it to work properly.

I've known how to do this for, as mentioned above, ~10 years. I've never once actually used it during a performance.
