Cracking fingers

Hi. Does anyone crack your fingers? Like you hear a little click in the joints.

Is this good or bad?

Maybe they're not around today.

This points out the aspect that 'just 'cause you can doesn't mean you should'. Although from the 'cavitation in the joint theory', there doesn't seem to be any definitive, objective support that doing so will damage your joint, potential damage to the joint due to stretching ligaments and/or intra-joint damage don't seem to be worth the risk.

Although I've been guilty of it in the past as an almost nervous reaction, I try not to succumb to it anymore.

meh, i don't think it's good or bad, a chiropractor(or something like that) told me to stop cracking my neck but mentioned that cracking my fingers wasn't bad.

it's really not proven either way, i wouldn't concern myself with it.

I crack my fingers, wrists, elbows, neck, and back numerous times a day, constantly. I have yet to feel any ill effects, besides the time I cracked my neck so hard I almost made myself pass out.

noisy joints can be a sign that you will develope arthritis.

Take Coral Calcium and Glucosamine to cure and prevent arthritis.

Joints should work smoothly and craking when playing a bass isn't a good sign. I can crack joints of my fingers intentionally but what value it has?

None except for a momentary amusement perhaps.

It's like farting with your arm pits.

I recall reading another thread on this topic where almost every said they was nothing to worry about and developing arthritis was just a myth.

I can crack my fingers, toes, wrists, and jaw and there doesn't seem to be any problems aside from my grip feeling weaker sometimes.
