OK, this is a youtube vid from my cover band in Atl. This was a new "thing" we are trying with band member intros...solo thing
Anyway, although I have been playing since men used buckskin condoms I don't slap...I like grooving...anyway, I CAN slap a bit, I call it slop slap, I'm NOT doing it the correct way and get a bruised knuckle from it...Solo is in E and I am playing with a wah for added "funk"

Possibly because it's extremely difficult to clearly hear you...The drums pretty much drown you out...What I could hear sounded pretty good. Maybe have the drummer not play so loud during your solo....Apparently you can get them to stop playing if you put sheet music in front of them....Dunno

Really? Ok...yeah he {drummer} insist on a damn Neil Pert drum setup with triggers....might be the cam setup also, the bar has a balcony, not really setup in front of the PA.
We are going to patch into the board next gig there.

Looks like your playing is really good, sounds cool, but the quality of th video makes it a little hard to make out.

I was paying attention to the rhythm, and the parts I heard sounded pretty solid. That's what counts most of all. Even if I do my own slop slap, I keep it within bounds to where I stay solid with the drums at all times.

I can't really hear much bass, but I'll tell you this. It needs more COWBELL.

I had a hard time hearing you over the drummer as well...

next time when it's the drummers turn to solo, you play your solo at the same time but LOUDER !!!!!! maybe he will get the point.

I am not a big fan of solos myself... I limit my "solos" to a 2-3 second familiar tune like.. 'when you wish upon a star', 'somewhere over the rainbow', and the ever popular 'twinke twinkle little star'... which always gets a chuckle from the ladies..
