Crosshand bass slapping

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm not sure if there's a correct term for it but thats the most fitting name i can think of, i can only remember seeing it done once in a guitar battle with victor and regee wooten where you take the hand slapping over the fretboard, presumably for most of you thats your right hand and swap its positioning from there to behind your left hand on the fret board and back whilst slapping open strings, ive seen it done on a double bass too but i cant think of any songs it's occurrent in available for learning, if anyone can think of any piece in which this technique occurs please do post, i've improvised my own method of using it but lets just say i really haven't got much room to advance on it, basically all i've managed is to cross over on the first notes of a bass paradidle technique. So any help would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure all they're doing is slapping the strings.
get a Syncopation book for drummers and learn the different rhythms.
