Its from John Mayer's appearance on Austin City limits in '08, and that was one great show by the band... wonder why DL isnt w/ JM any longer

Random piece of foam rubber, IMHO. I used to take sections of a foam matress pad I had bought at an army/navy surplus store and do the same thing.
John probably didn't keep him on salary while he was doing his trio-or he may be back doing his trio with Pino again.
Many a great bassist has "cheesed" a Star off for reasons sensible and non-sensical and been shown the door....

That's what it looks like to me. Pino has great style (i am more of a fan of his latest stuff than his fretless 80's stuff --> D'angelo, JMT). However, Dela speaks to me more as what i would want to be in a bassist. But i like them both in the John Mayer context!
