Do Fivers Tap Better?

My main bass is a VJbass, i also have a 4 string i noticed that i can tap better on my 5er than my 4 did any one else notice this?

It has far more to do with the playability and tone of each particular bass, no matter how many strings it has.

Depends on the bass. My Cirrus 5 taps a lot nicer than my old Ibanez SR-885.

strings are closer together, which helps i think.

Your 5string is probably set better for tapping.

ive never owned a 5 string personally but i will say that havin used a friends on occasion the 5 does take away some of the struggle of the left hand jumping up and down the neck to hit low frets it also means that you have more options on how you play the piece in question

I voted carrots. Not because it's a bad question, but only because it'll vary from person to person. Depends on your personal preference for neck width, string spacing, etc.

With fiver, there are more strings to ring if not muted properly. Perhaps that's why Billy Sheehan chooses to play BEAD/EADG doubleneck rather than using a fiver and getting that same range with just one neck instead of two!
