Sure, why not? Usually only when the moment calls for it though. It's like spicin' up your favorite food. A little is good, maybe more is better, but too much is......well, too much.

I'm old school I like some slap, but think many over do it. I dig Marcus Miller he goes between finger and slap as necessary for the section of a song. Still feels like a bass part.

I don't like the clicky-clacky constant slap I hear some guys do. To me it doesn't feel iike bass, more like a precussion part.

Slap fits in certain music, and doesn't in others. Gotta find a nice medium.....
