Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff". Is it impossible?

The bass on the record sounds like a sequencer. Online tabs have it as octaves, but its not. Its octaves, and a mix of 1/4 and 1/16s.

Is there a way of doing it? Is there a good bluff?

I did it last Saturday with just octaves, after having listened carefully enough to discover what you have too. Whether I bluffed the rest of the band I don't know, but as soon as the intro riff kicked in, nobody on the dancefloor gave a damn about if I was doing octaves og whatever

Check the 1980's vid on you tube. Looks like he's playing actives / tripletts with his thumb and fingers. Kind of a cool bass line , I can dig it.

I am not sure if you can see this, but this how we used to play the song adding a bit of oriental flavour...
