Thats one of the cool things about Vic... he tells and shows you exactly what he is doing. A lot of guys wont do that and if they do something is left out to keep you from nailing it. Now practicing the technique will be up to you.

Victor's website has a lesson section that has him explaining some of his techniques. I've learned a couple tricks from there.

I also have a hard time learning to double-pop. I've seen those instruction videos by Vic several times, but his hands ain't mine and he isn't left handed playing righty as I am (AFAIK). I just don't have that coordination in my right hand...

The hardest things regarding double-pops are to me to get the timing right for both pops and to make them sound similar. After the first pop with the index, the ring finger instantly wants to mute the string before popping it the second time. Is this accepted or should I work on letting both pops ring out properly when I practice?

I've heard of some guitarists turning their back to the crowd so people wouldn't steal their techniques

vic on the other hand shows you exactly what he does and gives you tips on how to work on it. The way it should be imo. Music is not a competition
