Dr Dre G funk bass sound

Hey,
anyone know how to get that fuzzy bass sound like on Wit Dre Day (off the Chronic) and used on a few Snoop Dogg tunes (What's My Name, for example)? Thanks, i know these lines are played on Keyboards, but does anyone know how to replicate these on a bass guitar?

Yep, you're right -- those lines were played on keyboards (a Minimoog, I think), so your best bet might be to find a bass synth pedal. Electro Harmonix makes one (Micro Bass Synth); so does Boss (SYB-3); and Akai recently came out with one (SB-1 Deep Impact). Line 6 also just came out with a filter modeler that includes some synth sounds (FM4). Check 'em out...
