Yeah, try a search--this topic has been covered many times, and I've seen it pop up a couple times pretty recently.

The bottom line: it works, but not that well. It's very tricky to use properly on a bass (even moreso than guitar) and takes a longer time to get the strings started vibrating. Doing hammer-ons or other such techniques can get the strings moving earlier, though that may not always provide a desired sound.

Like most unusual effects, you need to invest some time (and OOTB thinking) in it to use it well.

It isn't really that unusual or hard to use -- it just requires a little patience. Also, it sounds absolutely amazing on bass.

For more tips though, you really should search the effects forum and Michael Manring's page. It's all there.
