Ever since I taught my daughter...

...how to rest her thumb gently on the neck, with almost no pressure, I can suddenly do the technque better myself, when before I had the 8 year long habit of almost gluing my thumb to the neck.

But now I move it more freely, can shred some pretty intense riffs I couldn't before and while most improvement is on the E string, it's a start I'm building with.

Bless that little girls heart, she even wants me to get her a "joey pack" with a bass scaled for her size. How can I say no to that

But now I'm curious WHY showing someone else broke a habit I was aware of and still couldn't break by thinking through it on my own? Anyone answer that??

I taught Aikido for a few years. I improved my technique much more while teaching than practicing. Funny how that works.
