Experimental plucking style(s)

I've been brainstorming about how you could get the pick-sound by using your fingers. I think maybe wearing a thimble or some sort of metal covers over your fingers would be a cool experiment. Just gotta make sure you don't damage your pickups.

Anyone else experiment with new plucking styles, or know of any?

Make like you are holding a pick, and use your index fingernail as a pick.

could just do a wooten, turn up loud and hit the strings with the knuckle in your thumb... but if you want it to sound like a pick... use a pick...

I'm using a thumbpick at the moment: trying to get the thumb+index+middle picking technique going (a la Matt Garrison and Dominique di Piazza).

With the right tone, you can get double thumping to sound pretty pick-like.
