I don't think you're going to get a good trill sound without doing a hammer/pull.

do you mean "trills" or "triplets" (3 against 2) (= "triolen" in german, so maybe...)?

Trills i guess.

3trills = 2 - 16ths

hm, then pacman is right, those are usually executed as hammer-on / pull-off. picking each note will result in a strange phrasing that will not sound as good in most situations.

an exercise:

1st finger hammer-on to 2nd finger, pull-off to 1st finger.
same with 1st to 3rd finger, 1st to 4th.
then 2nd to 3rd... etc. through all the permutations.

if you really want to, do all that with fingering each note.

also sorry to do it again, but the explanation "3trills = 2 - 16ths"
was a bit cryptic for me...

these are triplets:

Nope. That feel he's so famous for is 2 8ths and a 16th. A triplet is 3 notes in the space where two normally is. OR, if you remember the old 50's ballads (12/8 feel), each beat was a triplet.

Yeah i do it with H/P:s now.

I sounds so much better, it's pretty hard to hear 3fingered triplets at 154bpm...

6/8 also has a triplet feel...
Trilling shouldn't really be "intime" Just do it as fast as possible. And fingering each note kinda ruins the fell of a trill. If you want it aggressive then try fingering each note.

for triplets, look no further than Metallica- Four Horsemen. Im sure there are better examples, but tis song basically runs on triplets, so yeh.
