Favourite Scales

So I decided to learn some scales through a little weird way.
Guys how about writing your favourite scales and the notes that each one includes? (the root being always E)

May I suggest the not so weird way? Studybass.com

There's no point in asking what peoples favorite scales are if you don't know much about the major scale and all its modes.

Personally, I dont think the word "favourites" comes into it with regard to scales. They are merely tools to make music. Whatever the music requires, then you use the appropriate "tools". BTW, it would be as important to concentrate on chord tones, as on scales.

I would agree with Basshoofd, about going to Online Bass Lessons at StudyBass.com

Sorry if this is not the answer you required.

The major scale is awesome. If I start at different points and play through one octave it sounds cool.

Diatonic major because it's the reference for all others AND for chords and harmony. If it's the only scale one knows one can still use it to be functional but if one doesn't know it you will always be at a disadvantage.

chromatic ... pick your starting note ...

not even sure it that is a answer... scales make my head hurt... I favored learning chords over scales...

chord sheets are easy to find.... scale sheets however :P

E Major: E, F#, G#, A, B, C#, D#, E (octave)
E Mixolydian: E, F#, G#, A, B, C#, D, E (octave)
E Minor: E, F#, G, A, B, C, D, E (octave) (aka Aolean and/or natural minor)
E "Blues", related to pentatonic: E, G, A, A#, B, D, D#, E (octave)

Although there seem to be many variations of "blues" scales; maybe some others will get posted, or search on Google.

You should learn them in all keys.

E, F#, G#, A#, C, D, E octave.
Better known as E eventone. Every note is a whole away from each other. It can be used as a turning point or to take up space in an arragement, because it does not fit any chord. C9#5#11??
