The title says it all. Are there any excercises for your fingers that you do when you cant play bass (like when in school)?

make a fist, then spread your fingers as wide as the can go and feel a slight stretch, repeat

press your fingers, one after the other, into your thumb with the amount of pressure you need to fret. you can do this all day with both hands.

take your plucking hand and squeeze your fretting hand around your index and pinky. Then try to do the Vulcan "live long and prosper sign." Kinda hard to explain in writing but it'll strengthen your finger spread ability.

enjoy

I've done this for years and I'm sure it's helped in some way or another.

+1 on the finger tapping, it has really helped me develop my 3 finger and right hand tapping technique

finger exercise

Hi,
The best thing I have found is the Grip Master! I started with the medium and quickly progressed to the "heavy tension". I carry one with me everywhere. The little fingerr on my left hand is a lot more flexable, and the ability to use three fingers on my right has greatly improved. I strongly suggest you try these devices.
