Finger injured

I've been popping so hard that it caused a huge blister to form on my right index finger. I wrapped it up and put off playing for like a day. After that, I unwrapped it, and tried playing lightly, and it didn't hurt the blister. I think the skin died because it's starting to peel right off my finger... is my finger going to callous or should I stop playing to avoid further injury?

Have you never gotten blisters before?
Yeah, pop it and let it heal. It will callous up eventually.

That layer of skin under the dead skin will be more tender than the skin that was there BEFORE the blister. But only for a week or so. Then,it will toughen up. In short, your finger is on it's way to withstand string-popping marathons! Which is a good thing,if you don't over do it......

Take that last sentence however you want. In other words, don't over utilize that particular technique, just because you can now.

Well you could stop playing .

Or just accept that you're going to get more and more of them . Eventually your hands toughen up . If you really want to see some mean looking blisters get an upright ...
