Finger Stretches/Sore Joints

SO I am mostly a fingers style player. And I also usually play pretty fast or try to. The middle knuckle and the base knuckle get sore, but only with my pointer figner. They are even sore as i type this now and i played bass for about an hour yesterday at from 8-9 pm EST. Im 23, and have been playing for 2 years-ish and dont have carpal tunnel *sp* or arthritis.

So if someone could suggest some finger stretches or something to lessen the amount of soreness/pain in the fingers that would be cool.

I also try to start out slow or with a pic when playing for the first few minutes

Are you sure you are not pressing down too hard when fretting ? You might need to check your technique. Dont jump straight into fast playing from the start. Either way, stretching and warming up are always a good thing. Some links below. Also search You Tube. Is there a possibility that this soreness could not be bass related ?

Are you talking about your fretting hand or your striking hand?

You may need to take a look at your technique. Some links below.
