| fingering trouble

Sometimes I tend to use more than one finger on a fret. I am learning a bit about fingering and positioning from my bass teacher, but I am still new to it. I play pretty fast, so sometimes it is hard to use correct fingers. Does anyone else have this problem? And does anyone have advice? Thanks.
