Fingerstyle angle of attack

I'm totally confused about the angle of attack with fingerstyle... I don't know if I'm overthinkng this or not... Before you strike the string what is the right angle and where do your fingertips point at?? The ground , the pickups?? Or in between both???

You've got to consider two things:

-The sound you want
-A relaxed position

Different 'angles' would make different sounds, which just gives you more musical tools

There is no real "right or wrong way" as such because of all the different styles that various players use.
But there is an efficient way, a way that gives the user the best chance to maximize their playing.

The video link shows and explains these points. The idea is to have as many of these elements in some form in your technique, not to try and repeat them exact. Yes there is room for adapting it for yourself so by all means do so so it fits in with what you can do. Playing techniques develop over years.

My own technique added or taking away many elements as i got older. The player i was 35 years ago is a much changed player today. The young me would struggle to understand and use the technique i have today.
