I want to start using my thumb for plucking in addition to my index and middle finger. I play exclusively fingerstyle and use the floating thumb technique for muting. Since my thumb is just sitting there, I figure it could be more useful. Kinda like the way Victor Wooten plays finger style. Does that make sense? I'm not talking about slap, just using my thumb for plucking and not just muting. Can anyone point me in the direction of any youtube videos or other lessons online that teach this technique? Any tips in general?
This is kinda what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MjUZmPVpKk
Not necessarily for fancy chordal stuff, though I'd like to get there eventually. It just seems to me like utilizing my thumb for plucking the E and A strings would make things easier/more interesting.
