First Ear Training Session -Easy Classic Rock Songs

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm including ear training into my practice schedule and was wondering what most of you think are some perfect first songs to learn by ear.

The songs must be really slow in tempo with very distinctive basslines so you can pick out the notes, I'm thinking like Bob Dylan song? Am I on the right track?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

Anything you like. Go start listening to some music and pick out the first song that you think you can play.

Get advice from a teacher about proper excercises to develop your recognition of intervals

MusicDojo.com has a good course for $50

That way instead of wasting your time guessing what's in a song, you can spend your time actually learning what the intervals are and once you do that you can learn the songs much quicker.

Otherwise, instead of learning entire songs just go for classic intros and learn those. Also sing the notes.

The Who - Baba O'Riley (once the band kicks in)
Pink Floyd - Money
Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Maybe pick songs you've already heard a lot. That way, you'll just be working on ear training, and not getting confused about how the song goes.
