First to Fifth Position.

I am getting a little concerned since I haven't been playing bass in a while, and I am having trouble playing the first 5 frets on my basses comfortably. Do you guys have any suggestions as how I can solve this small problem?

Oh, and since I started playing my bass higher up, my finger's are now in this position on the fret board: / || \ (curled fingers) Instead of: | || | (flat fingers, lower bass)

Thanks,
Sebastien.

practice... that is all you can do. make sure that you keep good left hand technique, using all 4 fingers.

You might want to look at the length of your strap because of the way strap length can alter the position the nut (and lower frets) relative to your left hand.
