with his thumb?
On suck my kiss i know he doesn't slap every note.
More of a real aggressive pluck where he really digs into it.

He doesn't slap at all on that song, just digs in hard with really low action (with a Wal ).

yah it's just aggressive tone, but the song isn't that hard to slap really

and the chorus and bridge is softer, so do it how you like it

It's all found in the aggressive sound of his Wal bass. Justin Chancellor of Tool gets that same tone with his Wal. No slapping.

?? Not to dis anyone, but.... thats a straight rock groove , no slap, no special bass, no nothing. Just a good rock groove. No more no less. Not a pluck either.

When you dig in hard, the strings are actually bouncing off the heel of the fretboard, giving that sound. Actually, George Porter used to "pluck" that way, an "artificial" pluck by pinching the string down on the board.

You guys must be young and inexperienced. Flea's alright, dont get me wrong. But 'glory' is being in a hit producing band. Aint rocket science.

has RHCP not done that multiple times? or am i mistaken?

and who are you to say that your definition of "glory" trumps everyone else's and makes them "young and inexperienced?"

I've often thought that mark King can get a sound that sounds a lot like slap even while he's playing with his finger. Which confused me.
