Question Flea's technique in Around the World coda

Sign in to disble this ad
hi!

I'm not an experienced bass player, so this question should not be hard for some of you pros.

I wonder what sort of technique Flea is using on the coda to Around the World. I've heard other bassists do it too. It sounds almost like the bass is either playing downbeats only or makes downbeats more prominent or just plays far on the back of the beat.

Thanks

He's anticipating the eighth notes slightly - playing ahead of the beat.

Pls explain. I haven't read music in years. Which part of the song-- does he mean the intro that recurs about midway through the song?
