Foot stool?

Sign in to disble this ad
Is there actually a foot stool out there specifically made for a bassist or guitarist to put their foot on when playing? If so I'd like to have some links. If you use just anything, I'd like to hear what it is that you use as one

What do you need a foot stool for? I am guessing you sit down to play, but what does the foot stool do?

I play mainly sitting down since I'm not really a live player. The stool positions your knee at a height of your choice so your guitar or bass sits perfectly the way you want it. Without one you have to bend your back forward a bit and it gets uncomfortable.

Hmmm, didn't know that was a problem for bass. Can you tell I don't play sitting down much>

Would a strap help? Or are you trying to keep the weight off your shoulder?

I know acoustic guitar players who sit on a stool and keep on of their legs on a brace.... I assume for the same reason.

Got mine from Wal-Mart. It's a plastic foot stool they normally stock. I'm guessing at the height - 6 to 8 inches.
