Fret Buzz, a biznatch I want beaten and thrown in a ditch, but don't know how to.

I do have my ways of simply avoiding it, but I wanna know what I can do to eliminate it, outside of going fretless. I usually just press down hard enough so that the fret doesn't buzz, but are there other ways? I've heard that the method I use is somewhat damaging, so I'm sorta worried about that.

Anyone know?

Check that your neck is straight, then adjust the action so the strings are high enough that they dont buzz....
