Fret Clank when Muting

Sign in to disble this ad
When I'm casually playing a lot of times I get a bit of fret clank (the string hitting the 20th fret), just particularily when I pluck with my finger and then rest my finger on it again to mute it.

Anyone else had this problem? I didn't know if it was a flaw in my technique or if I should raise the saddles a little bit. I like the action in the bass though, it feels great, and its not tremendously low, I don't get any buzz whatsoever til I hit about the 14th fret.

So just really gentle muting, or what?

Try muting with the left hand instead. You may have to change your technique to do this, but you'll find it much cleaner. About 80% of muting, is left handed.
