It's the classic question ever since Jaco showed how cool fretless can be: what is the best way getting good intonation with a fretless?

Any tips are appriciated

Listen.
Practice alone.
Practice with music (band, CD...).
More practice.

That's what it takes to train your ear, AND to make your lazy left hand, used to frets, wake up and do some precision work. (That's whay the first Fender was called "Precision bass" - the precision was in the bass, the bassist could have rather sloppy technique )

Practice......listen.......practice.......

Practice is the only way to improve your intonation.

PRACTICE and LISTEN.
PRACTICE with a chromatic tuner and LISTEN.
PRACTICE along with a CD and LISTEN.
PRACTICE scales with a guitarist and LISTEN.
PRACTICE with a piano player and LISTEN.

I have searched long and hard for a pattern to these rules of intonation, but I have never been able to find one
