Fretless slapping

i heard somewhere that slapping on a fretless kills the fretboard, but it looks like everyone does it so maybe its not such a problem

It depends on the finish of the fingerboard.

exactly. my fretless is made of ebony (pretty durable) so it wouldn't be a problem.. but fretless basses aren't made to be slapped so i wouldn't recommend it.

Ebony is a very very hard wood
Im not sure if i can slap on my fretless,my fretboard made from rosewood..

If you slap correctly, you can slap on anything and you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Go ahead slap on a fretless people do it all the time, it will not soudn or feel the same but if you like it go with it
