fretting hand speed

I can pluck 16ths at 180 without to much trouble... so my right hand is pretty fast.

my left hand is just way behind though.

what are some good exercises to remedy this?

I've just been doing what everybody says and practicing scales and whatnot. started slow, and then just building up speed over time. that and different monotonous left handed work that just works on endurance and strength an all that jazz. nothing exciting or magical about what I do. works fine for me. I wish I could do 16ths at 180bpm though. I'm about 30-40bpm behind you with my right hand (three fingers- 3213 2132...). how long have you been playing?
