If you are a bassist in the Edinburgh area and are interested in working on your playing in a full time course we may have just what you need. At the Academy of Music and Sound, based in the Grassmarket, we offer two full time courses, our BTEC National Certificate in Music and our BTEC National Diploma in Music.
These courses allow you to spend a great deal of time on you own instrument. You are not mixed into multi instrument classes. For example rather than learning general music theory, bassists will learn fretboard theory on their own instrument in lessons with bassists only.
Most of our students receive their tuition fees free. These are paid by our partner college, Telford College. Many students also receive a BUrsary and EMA or ALG allowances.
Before we can offer students a place on a course,potential students must first sit a short assessment. This is the perfect opportunity for us to see where you are at as a player and also it gives you the chance to have a look at our facilities. This assessment usually costs £10. However, on Saturday 26th April we are offering a Free Assessments Day.
