Arrow Funk/Ska/Reggae Tips

hey everyone, first time poster here.. I play in a band and we are doing pretty well but still trying to find our sound. I've got a background in jazz on an upright but this band is supposed to be more ROCKSTAR apparently.. My fav styles are Funk and Reggae I've listened to a lot of music from both genres and I even taught myself some decent slap bass..

I am wondering if anyone has any good tips for playing Funk or Reggae rhythms.. currently I'm working on triplets.. or any tips on how to structure songs and bass lines melodically in either genre.

Thanks in advance for your replies..

Peace,
Dev-Tronn (3000) !!BASSTACLOT!! Yeah!

go to the search feature and type in: "Reggae Riddums"...then go to the Funk 101 thread...that'll be all you need
