Anybody besides me think the fingerings (tab) in the otherwise excellent Funkmasters book/cd were done by a guitarist, not a bassist. I don't see any of the clever open string use that I bet most bassists would use. There are lots of examples, but one clear one is Lickin' Stick. Why someone wouldn't use an open G string in the upbeat is beyond me. |
