Glossary of Terms?

Sign in to disble this ad
Is there a thread here on TB that is eluding me, containing what amounts to a glossary of technique terms? Somewhere a person can go to find a brief definition of some technique.

What's a triplet? What's a double stop? What's a pop or a slap? What's a dead cat?

I might have made up at least one of those terms.

What is/are the basic method(s) for accomplishing whatevertechniqueitis?

Thought it might be a handy thread to have ready when I'm stumped. Which is frequently.

Thanks all.

I'm not sure there is a thread like this, but if you type the word into the search box + a keyword like what is etc you'll have more explanations then you need.

actually i think general instruction would be a great place for a thread like this if it doesn;t already exist.
search function i don't think would be a handy way to find out "what is a double stop" "what is a scale".
more or less i think the term you're looking for is "dictionary"
your idea, run with it, make one in word to start off, i would use links and google to get the actual definitions. get as many as you can, copy paste, into a thread in GI and ask for people to add to it, maybe it'll get stickied.

if it's not there i really do support the motion for one.

Across the top of my computer screen, just beneath the TalkBass logo, is a horizontal blue strip that contains the following labels:
