Joe Osborn (played on too much stuff for me to list; just google the guy).

Alan Gorrie (Average White Band, real funky way to play).

John Taylor (Duran Duran, used a pick on a lot of stuff; also quite funky).

In fact, all three examples have a funky approach with a pick.

What kind of music? Nick Oliveri and Jesse Keeler are my two favourite pick-wielding bassists.

Paul McCartney used a pick from time to time in The Beatles. Jason Newsted is quite good too.

+1 to McCartney. Check this thread out.

Another pick player that I enjoy so much listening is Pat Badger from Extreme.

The guy playing bass in this clip gets a lot of bashing here, but he created very cool music with interesting basslines.

Trevor Dunn, Steve Swallow, and Tony Levin. I probably don't even have to mention John Paul Jones, but he really made me realize the sonic potential for pick playing.
