For any of you who have successfully played BB Dickerson's bass line on "Low Rider" by WAR, I'd appreciate any advice - my basses are so damn resonant --- how do you kill the notes so quickly to pull off that bass line ???
It reminds me of someone stacking bricks to build a building as the bassline ascends. But the individual notes are as tight as a nun's luvin' and immediately die before the next note is played.........so quickly. In other words, the envelope of the notes played look like avery tight inverted "V".
I've been doing covers for decades but maybe my palm muting isn't good enough ???....
chop, chop, chop!
For those of you who forgot the line, here's where a small sample is (turn on your speakers)

Any advice is appreciated, mucho bolango!
