I got double thumbing down, but developing it so it doesnt just sound like a technique is tricky, to quote my teacher "Thats a great technique, im very impressed but where is the music?" maybe its the fact that two double thumbs accounts for 1 a & a, it just doesnt have a groove..hell i dunno..help!

Buy a copy of "Victor Wooten Bass Day '98." Effortless grooving with the double-thumb technique.

One thing to try is to confine the upstrokes to syncopated beats. That way, the difference in sound (if any) between downstrokes and upstrokes won't mess up the groove.

Yeah. Vic is a beast on that video.. He is a beast on any video. He has mastered the art of the double thump. He does it so effortlessly. I can only go for so long before my thumb starts to get sore. I see Vi going the whole show doing it throughout.. i guess i just gotta build up my dexterity and what not
