Grooving in different times?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone, I have a question. I've been listening to a lot of fusion lately and notice how a lot of bassists can amazingly and easily groove in times like 6/8 or 5/4. I can play in these time sigs, but not "groove" with them...any help?

Play a lot in these time signatures, it'll come eventually. Practice makes perfect, it's just a matter of accommodation.

Try learning squib cakes by tower of power, that weird time signature at the end of the 'head' helped me started to wrap my head around no counting in four.
