No haughty-ness at all. In fact I'm more than easy to get along with in a jam/band situation. Why do people think ANY criticism at all = haughty-ness?

Its more hit or miss these days becuae its easier to find people to play with and more people play (or dabble). But the notion that the quality of top flight musicians in the past is better than the quality of top flight musicians today, I dont buy that at all, thats a case of "old-head" nostalgia.

You seem very well-trained theory and technique-wise. You probably need to be more discriminating in how you go about finding peopleto play with or embrance sesai-ness and show these cats hows its done sans the haughty-taughtyness.

My 2 cents...

It sounds like the typical guitard to me. I am self taught on the bass and know very little theory (all via internet research, moving alot and being in rural areas means teachers are usually a minimum hour drive away), yet I can easily pick up a guitar and play a riff that a guitard shows to me after only a couple runs through it. I personally think it is the guitard's ego sub-consciously not wanting him to learn it. I used to play in a band with a guitard who had been taught since day one and had been playing for 7 years and even when I showed him a riff, he couldnt play it. Mind you, if you looked guitard up in the dictionary, you would have a picture of his face next to the definition.

Cheers,
Jordan
