Hammer on/pull offs

Hi, i had a few questions about hammer ons and pull offs.
As i play metal with my band and the guitarrista does some crazy fast riffs(thrash) i want to improve my hammer on/pull off technique but i dont know how to practice :S any ideas are welcomed.

Make a riff with lots of them and practice it untill you can do it really fast. Worked good for me and slap bass
