ive always just plucked the D, never hammered it before.
any trick to it or is it just lame?

ive always just plucked it too...maybe its more of a pull-off type move than a hammer on. cuz i dont see you you could literally hammer-on an open string. (someone can maybe prove me wrong?)

I guess you would have to lift up the string from the nut and release it to create a hammer-on sound on an open string....

You sure it's hammering the D?

I've never heard the song, but in looking at the tab, is it possible that you are supposed to pluck the B on the A string and then hammer on to the C and then pluck the E on the D string?

That's how I read it anyway. They should have put a slur in there.
